Evironmental sealing and great glass possible?

Hello all!

our business is taking off nicely as the AZ heat dissipates. we have been shooting a LOT, and enjoying every minute of it.

one of the venues we shoot in is a track environment where it is extremely dusty. i get to clean my 20D/30D sensors almost each time we're out to the track now - even without swapping lenses. boy, what i wouldn't give to have some type of defense from the dust! it is my sincerest hope that Canon drives their environmental protection to the "lower" (but still excellent) echelon of cameras. seeing environmental sealing on the new Samsung/Pentax is kind of cool! it means Canon will raise their bar because they can, and also because they won't want to be second to anyone (at least, it is my hope that they will follow that line of thinking).

are there any negative impacts to environmentally sealing? are there any after market kits to "do it yourself"? been looking... :)

Also, has anyone here had the opportunity to shoot with a 200MM 1.8L here in the states? if you haven't or didn't know about this lens; boy, oh boy- it was a Euro-only model discontinued in 2004and what a beautiful piece of equipment... i got to shoot with it ever so briefly at a Motorsports event we were capturing and it was like a completely new world. since Nikon is still offering their 200MM 2.0, it is my sincere hope that Canon will bring a new/improved version to the US with lead free glass.

Jinkies, i hope Canon can come through for us. i think it'd be great to have a 20/30D like camera with a slightly larger MP count, environmentally sealed, and same FPS... it'd make the price higher, presumably, but what a great way to reinforce the dominance of how wonderful of a camera the 20/30D is over the competition!
