Robert,
They may sell cotton candy elsewhere, but that font screams fair/circus and we immediately know where we are. Fun colors and fun movement in the banners.

What was funny is that when I took the shots of the banners, the text was backwards. The wind was blowing them that way and there was no view from the other side. So I took the shot because of the colour and symmetry and flipped it in Photoshop.
Here is the shot straight from the camera - and as you can see it makes no sense - - - unless I wanted to post it as a puzzle I suppose:

oh, yeah. Seen backwards, especially with that font, it is very hard to read!
I like the punch of the color in post, as it makes it more candy-ish, especially the pink

it makes as much sense as otton candy.... or cotton cand ... meaning of course it makes sense - its only backwords type and not much use as a puzzle - more interesting perhaps out of the camera the the mirror. i think the colours need work in both... but then again its a net thing so that makes no sense either !

I don't know if Robert does, but I have a few I did last summer, as the fair only comes here a few days each summer and will be here in 2 weeks.

lol.. fairs around here are not so saturated and sparkling ... here they are grim noisy **** holes.. maybe that just here then !

the actual scene was much more saturated and sparkly. I pulled up the blacks and fill light and de-saturated all the bright granny smith apple greens. All the places that are on the ride that are grey now, were that bright green. It had made an image that was all about the colors and I wanted the punch of the orange to bring the eye to those dangling feet way up in the sky.

Imagine if Rockwell worked in Photoshop, he's have done exactly this! One image sums up the idea of the fair and the thrill of kids letting go of all their cares on these joy machines! Also, it looks like an Amrican flag, the Stars and Stripes, LOL!!!! Good thing you removed the green.

Good suggestion Mark. After all - - - the whole fair thing is a "Favourite Pastime" for most of us.
With this small town fair, I wasn't there - nor was basically anyone. It was running along the beach and I was looking for my daily shot for posting on one of my websites - and saw these banners.
But that doesn't mean that I don't have fair shots. In fact every year we take our grandchildren to the fair - giving me ample opportunites for great fair images. And I like mine colourful and saturated.
I'll look on my server and see what ones I can find to include here.

Here's a start - - - just for info purposes, ALL OF MY PHOTOGRAPHY IS SHOT HAND-HELD
1) I like the symmetry here and being able to focus on different people as they are rotating around at a high speed
2) Drop zone is always a tough one to shoot for me - this time I just followed these girls as they were going up and as they dropped and then the relief at the bottom
3) It was vitually impossible to get an angle on this ride - I got several, but really like the way you only see the face on the right side and then the misplaces socks on the left
4) I followed the circle of this ride shooting through some other rides from a distance. I wanted to capture them right at the top - this was the closest I got to perfect

7) My son and my wife Anne were standing watching Robert's wife and the grandchildren on a ride - it's a touching shot for me that I reached into the shadows to capture
8 ) I was shooting the rides in behind, but noticed some kids in the foreground and so dropped my camera a bit to include them. To me it adds a lot and makes for a powerful image

13) Inside the 'Progress Building", there was shopping including this massive wall of hats - that immediately caught my son Robert's and grandson Mason's attention. I look for differenet perspectives to capture them - including this peek through a wall and the back of a hat
14) I take 3 of my 4 children and their families, on different days that the fair is on. Here is the whole crew when we go with my oldest son Robert (I handed my camera to a person sitting across from us)

For these shots, I decided to input 5 variations of each image both vertical and horizontal, into AutoPano Pro (a panoramic application with a Smart Blend) to generate a new image composed of different elements from each frame. I have had some interesting effects in the past, using this program for unconventional usage.
