Hi Fouad,
I am impressed with this first picture. It has a demanding pattern that catches one's attention. I like the simple form of a block of industry which moves us to heaven.
Fouad Almalki: Abstract #1
What's a distraction is the plants at the foot of the image which is untidy. Merely removing this brings out the symbolic nature of the work to the forefront. After all, there's little else to do but to wander up and down the stair case and think where are we going?
The second picture is no more abstract than the first (without the foreground). In fact, it's less.
Fouad Almalki: Abstract #2
I feel that the removal of the sky takes away such a powerful and rich element, so soft, ethereal and infinite compared to the puny limited and temporary man-made construction, that the energizing force has been lost. Now, of course one does not need the sky to have an abstraction of the original image. However, the form one does present should be at least as powerful as the choice one misses.
So my commendations on the picture. You have a great eye and that's a good capture. I think there's still work to do in the final presentation of your initial concept. Play with it further as it's very worthwhile and will result in a special photograph. In addition, if you might like to do so, consider correcting the lack of orthogonality in the building. The windows are angled. Either angle them more or make them straight, is what I'd think of doing. Again something you might ponder.
Thanks for sharing a remarkable first image!
