Well, from what I've read, it is not looking good for a initiative that would tackle global warming in the way it is required. While I am not astonished, it is a disgrace, crime against humanity comes to mind....

Global warming and pollution are two separate issues, although linked in a few areas. They are treated as one, so that they can hop from one to the other to suit the argument of the time.
We are living through a period of global decay. Face up to it. There is no hero, or group of heroes to save this day - they all have too short a life span, too much vested interest, no support, until the sh1t really hits the fan....
P.S. anybody know what happened to the 'promises' made during the prior G8 meeting?
If you are referring to Africa, yes, nothing!
Africa indeed, sad isn't it.
Just imagine that all the money (and human life) wasted in Iraq could have solved all short/medium term (medical/food) problems in Africa, and probably a few other continents. It's a bloody shame.

The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the poorest 48 nations (i.e. a quarter of the world’s countries) is less than the wealth of the world’s three richest people combined..... Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen.
