Back about 1975 someone convinced me that real photographers use wideangles. I was using an OM-1 at the time, and went and bought a very good and pricey ultrawide. When I look back through my shoeboxes, I find that all of my favorites were taken with longer lens.
A few months ago I wound up with a few dollars that had to be spent via internet. One of my purchases was a 100mm macro, one of the higher rated Minolta lens, and still available for $550.00. Over the last couple of days I have had some time to play with it, and tried some macros. Guess what- my best was with my old Sigma 24-135. Will keep trying though.

Yes, we have many forgotten treasures. We buy too many wonder lenses. In the old days I worked with one lens only for years!
