I was struck by the generational span between these two members of the percussion section of the Faculty-Student Orchestra of Brookhaven College (part of the Dallas Community College District) as they played for commencement exercises last night. The difference in dress is exaggerated by the faulty member's being in academic regalia.
It's an excellent orchestra, and the director exploited its modest size by attaining wonderful delineation between the parts in the various arrangements.
Canon EOS 40D, Sigma 18-200 mm f/3.5-6.3 at 200 mm, ISO 1600, f/6.4, 1/60 sec, some help from a 580EX II flash unit (a very long throw).
The shot could use some noise management, but here you see it without for expediency's sake.
