What really make the composition for me is the girl’s look to her right, towards the couple
with the child and that’s how we get to the eye-stopping, straw hat! Look at the circles on the hat. So it serves as a fixed anchor!
That line, between her stare and the straw hat gets us to move our eyes, back and forth, ignoring the balloons in the b.g., realizing how much more significant is her own comely shape! Ahah, we sigh, so there are the important balloons he’s talking about!
Now that is subtle enough and so funny, as you can always deny you even intended such a daredevil meaning!
