Jaime,

Superb in flight image. I guess it's coming in to land. Those talons look like steel hooks. What a magnificent killer!

I wish I had such a lens! How much cropping or is this the full size image. The only lens I could afford is the non-IS 400 f5.6. I wonder how good that might be?

Fantastic shot, this looks like its taking off after having a bite to eat. You just just make out a lump on the neck, Great work keep at it Jaime.

Anthony,

I missed that bulge in the neck. Thanks for pointing it out. Could be it ate recently, but being full, the extra goes in the crop. Could also be a bolus of undigestables, to be eventually expelled, as per good eagle custom!

I know eagles can take on animals up to at least 3 lb. How much weight can golden eagles carry? Is this video for real?

The crop is where the food goes before it works it's way down into the stomach. Owls don't have a crop just to let you know there food goes straight down into there stomach.
