Golden Leaf

Days are growing shorter and light is getting scarce. Still, we have some nice sunny days left before the nature takes the final plunge towards the dreary rainy Autumn days and, finally, snow.

Last night I took a short walk in the woods near my home. This is what I saw.

The Golden Leaf

This time I'm aware of the technical shortcomings of this image (I usually don't care too much). The Lily of the Valley is too blown out and the fern behind it lacks detail. But this is actually pretty much how the Golden Leave did reveal itself. Besides, I felt like sharing this image anyway. Thank you!

It may have a few technical shortcomings, as you say, but it has that magical light that is low in the sky and that can turn ferns into jewels. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Jarmo,

Autumn is my favourite season.
If the Lily of the Valley bothers you, it's the easiest thing in the world to clone it out. I'm happy to ignore it, but would like the bracken to be more in focus.

Regards,

Stuart

Thank you Maggie and Stuart! You know Stuart, the sunlit lily is what caught my eye and gave the idea for this picture. Thank you both for your valuable comments!
