Happy New Year to All!

My first sunrise in Apo Island. I was up early around 4am to check out the place. It was pitch black walking around Apo since electricity was cut that night at 9pm. The skies were filled with stars and I've never looked at the horizon that long it was Amazing. I saw a couple of shooting stars and it made me appreciate that time of the day more. At 530am it all began..

I hope to see many images from your visit!

Karlo,

A good start for 2010, let the water refresh us! I like your continued interest in the seas coming over coastal rocks.

A technical note to consider: The slow shutter speed is, of course essential to get just the effect you have shown. Still, there's a question of whether you might be better off with a deeper ND filter of say 3 so you can shoot this at f 5.6 and benefit from the better function of the optical system. With scenes like this, one may not notice the difference. Still, at f 11, where there is detail in the rocks, there may well be diffraction degradation, (due to the tiny aperture, given the small size of the camera's sensels).
