Hi Fahim,

You have again brought forth several treasures at once. I could comment positively on all your recent posts, but chose this one to say thanks for sharing and that althogh they are all lovely - the colours of Venice or the peaceful fields or humorous hats, I do like the subject matter here. You are back to your engagement with people.

Best

Hi Fahim,
You are amazing! Mike is so correct in noting these treasures.
I too find this image as a stand-out among the fine collection you've presented us so far.

Well done!

Charlotte, Mike, John...

My apologies for not having responded to your kind comments. It was rude of me, to say the least.

Timothy's post brought this to my attention.

Best Regards.

Fahim,

Likely, you knew immediately that the picture was going to be special for you and us and stand out in your collection.

Fahim Mohammed: Grain Seller

The image of a young man doing his utmost to excel is shown. That he has no physical store with a door, counter and shelves, doesn't hold back his own sense of pride and purpose. The composition is very satisfying, giving a great sense of abundance, even in this barebones market.

I wonder if you might darken the background except for the man on the left and tome down the arresting colors in the stacked chairs on the right. I have no issue with sharpness of the grains. The matt, however, can be soft. The face, (if lightened in the shadows), joins the powerful lines of black pots, balances that out the well defined grains. I'd offer that you might only need to sharpen his eyes and lips.

Asher, let me dig up the original and apply some of your suggestions; if I am capable of applying them.

Thank you for your help.

Regards.

I wonder if you may have also taken other views? Do you shoot from the hip, pausing momentarily as you pass, or do you stop and boldly compose?

I shall have to dig into the backups to see if I took some more photos here.

If I know I shall return to a scene later, I take a considered approach. Otherwise, I try to figure out what to me seems right ( and most often easy! ). There are other times when one just clicks and hopes the moment has been captured. I guess I have followed all three approaches.

Regards.
