Grasshopper on a thistle

I'm trying something a little different to make my regular bug shots a little more dramatic. This was shot with a EF100/2.8 ISL macro with a Life Size Converter on an Eos1D MkIV and lighting provided by an MT-24EX.
The captured image was then processed in LR3 to add vignette and saturation boost.....opinions gratefully received and thanks for looking.

I am no expert on macro so I was waiting for somebody else to chime in. I like the clarity-like processing on the grasshopper and the plant it is sitting on. The bokeh is quite nice, but I don't like the extreme vignetting to be honest. Could it be a tad less perhaps?

Thanks for the input Cem, I'll give it a try later with less vignetting and post the results back on here.

Dank je wel

Bob,

Cem might be right to have less vignetting, but the picture works for me, but not when there's no vignetting. Your original works and has a local address for the cricket. So maybe that could be tuned but not removed!

Thanks for popping in Asher, much appreciated. I was trying to get away from my cricket and hopper shots all being various shades of green and little to give a contrasting colour. Multi-coloured crickets would be the ideal option but there aren't any around these parts.

Bob, like Cem I am no macro expert, but I do prefer the one without the vignette. I would also combine

two to dial down a tad the brightness of the grasshopper.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for giving your input Fahim, I'll keep revisiting the shot to see what I can do to keep it interesting without over-cooking it.
