I am a retired electric utility operations executive; thirty years of keeping the lights on was enough. Now I am attempting to convert my photography hobby into a small business.

I bought a simple little Fugifilm digital about ten years ago. I quickly sold all of my Nikon and Bronica film cameras. I have since followed a Nikon path with a D-100, D-70, D2x and now a D3.

I got interested in this forum as I struggled with making the move to a more professional workflow. I have found lots of good information.

Welcome to OPF! Setting up a Photography Business is no simple thing. We've a few guys trying to do the same. With hard work and talent, yes, you will succeed. Here you can share your progress and experience.

I hope you have film images to show us! Scan them or else take a photograph with your D3!

The D3 is an amazing camera for it's light sensitivity, low noise, fast focus and low noise. So tell us what your business approach is going to be with your selected area of interest.
