Growing Pains

These were taken last night in my beautiful returning West evening light on the patio
Brother and Sister growing up-each was treated with different shadow effects-candid shots but I did pay a dollar for the Peyton girl model who runs from me when she sees my camera so the dollar worked-

yes that West light is a God to me! finally returning! I was coming back to add Peyton's color shot in that same light-the same night to show the difference from the black and white in the light- thank you for looking and always welcome ideas and reflections on my work

Of course I think the $1 was well spent! If the lighting of the boy's face, above is right here for your esthetics then the following one is off.

I prefer the boys images, maybe it's the freckles but really it's the fact that right side of the picture works. The blown out space is like a void we might usually accept when it's black. This over-exposure is fine as an effect if that's to be your trade mark. The latter effect you seem to like. If so, it should be a consistent feature of your style. I feel that making one eye of the girl look sharp as it looks up disassociates it for her. It's a weirdness that I'm not comfortable with. I prefer to see the lips defined since that is a major source of emotional signals.

So good to see you in my thread
and yes the girl shot didn't have the west light just right as the boy! light was leaving rapidly-
I am trying for the shade/shadow effect in my work now and you are right I will stick wth that very feature in my work of the future
it gives me great pleasure to show my work as this trademark" it very much suits me*
