In Perspective, Planet: Hamza's Class Essay..Pura Taman Ayun

I do this all the time. I explain and give the photographs. Hamza writes the essays and presents them to his class, in Texas or here.

Since Asher asked for a wider view of the temple..instead of bits and pieces let me collect this in one place.

Hamza shall present the same next week to his class ( wants to impress Julie!! ), so please don't show it to his classmates!!

"The huge state temple of Pura Taman Ayun, surrounded by a wide elegant moat was the main temple of of the Mengwi Kingdom which survived until 1891.

The large, spacious temple was built in 1634.

The first courtyard is a large, open grassy expanse and the inner courtyard has a multitude of meru ( multiroofed shrines )."

From the Lonely Planet Guides. Bali/Lombok.

Let's look around before we enter the outer courtyard proper. Behind me is the main road.

Looking to my right, and then left.

Let's go in. Past the ticket office and the washrooms on the right into the outer courtyard.

Mods; could you please delete my previous thread on this subject as I intend to combine it with this one. Thanks.

A Legend ?

There is a legend around here. Says if one looks down into the moat that surrounds the temple,
and if the sun is just right to cast a shadow...but only for special persons..

Those that visit the temple shall see that shadow for all time to come.

It is just a legend..or is it.

Let's enter the temple's outer courtyard. Before the tourists arrive. We have spent too much time
here already.

Hamza, I shall wait on the mods before I continue further.

p.s the responsive of the mods here is really astounding. I had requested them to delete a similar
thread I had started so as to make it into one connected thread.

But either they didn't read, can't do, won't do, don't know what and how to do.

The least is they could let the OP know. Or is that too much to ask also.!

I do this for the endrophin rush, but also to share with members here. It does take time on my part. Can't the mods take a little time to reply..just as a common courtesy.

Fahim,

A belated reply.

It would have helped if you could be a bit more specific about which thread you are referring to.

I'm quite busy myself right now, and the others apparently also have more urgent things to do than detective work ;-). When I'm at home behind my computer now I'm mostly restructuring my assets/backups and totally rebuilding my RAID with larger capacity which requires starting over from scratch due to a 4k sector alignment situation.

Please do understand that we are not employed as moderators, we just volunteer some of our spare time (if there is any) to avoid disasters and lend a helping hand here and there.

Cheers,
Bart

Thanks Bart.

Please do understand that I too post here ( as do all others, I think ) of their free wills and as volunteers. In my spare time,of which I have a lot.

I too am not employed as a poster to this forum.

At the time I posted my request to delete the ' thread ', it was immediatedly under it.

I understand you are not a detective. Please understand I, too, have not committed any misdemeanours for moderators or detectives to investigate.

Anyway..no harm done.

Take care and my best regards.

Hi Fahim,

I must say this is the first time I've read this thread in it's entirety. For prompt changes to a thread, a PM to me is the most effective in getting stuff moved, deleted or stored for you.

My apologies for tardiness in attending to the thread.

Bart, Asher...

There was no tardiness on anyone's part. I should have exercised more patience!!

As they say down in Langley..no harm, no foul!!

Thank you all for your understanding.

Regards.

p.s if both ( this thread and the one entitled ' Mengwi Kingdom ', Hamza could start a new essay. ( btw, he is writing an essay on this. What he writes is his business; I write here with the same pics. )

Regards.
