I do this all the time. I explain and give the photographs. Hamza writes the essays and presents them to his class, in Texas or here.
Since Asher asked for a wider view of the temple..instead of bits and pieces let me collect this in one place.
Hamza shall present the same next week to his class ( wants to impress Julie!! ), so please don't show it to his classmates!!
"The huge state temple of Pura Taman Ayun, surrounded by a wide elegant moat was the main temple of of the Mengwi Kingdom which survived until 1891.
The large, spacious temple was built in 1634.
The first courtyard is a large, open grassy expanse and the inner courtyard has a multitude of meru ( multiroofed shrines )."
From the Lonely Planet Guides. Bali/Lombok.
Let's look around before we enter the outer courtyard proper. Behind me is the main road.
Looking to my right, and then left.
Let's go in. Past the ticket office and the washrooms on the right into the outer courtyard.
Mods; could you please delete my previous thread on this subject as I intend to combine it with this one. Thanks.
