Hello everyone at OPF My name is Rob...as if you couldnt tell by my handle.
I Just got out of the Navy and have always had a soft spot for really good pictures! I have had many many digital point n shoot cameras but i just bought Canon Eos Rebel Xt. And i'll tell you what...ive been smitten with the difference in quality of pictures that you can achieve even with an unskilled hand. I'm really into European Cars, I.E. vw, audi, bmw, porsche. Have been a euro car enthusiast for about 4 years now and i love taking pics of them. At the bottom of this post you'll find a couple pics i took of my car at the last car show i went to. I'm 25 years old, married, and have a beautiful 8yr old son. I'm hoping to learn alot with my time here at OPF and can't wait to talk to some you guys n gals.

Happy Shooting
Rob
p.s: feel free critisize my photos as i have an untrained eye just yet.

Welcome Rob,

An eight year old is a handful of activity but a great joy! You interest in cars is a defect in young men, inherited since the ice age when guys were after the fastest yak or streamlined skin canoe.

Start of in Entry level digital and post up to 4 related pictures per post. Each time, putting similat images together allows us to focus feedback!

The key thing is to to focus on improving one's work. folk here are very helpful is you provide a goal and a context for what you show. It does not have to be award winning but it does need to be something you are thrilled about. Having an interest in these throaty high torque cars going from zero to supersonic in no time at all, is a real male and exciting hobby. The thing to do is to get that feeling into a print. If that's what you want to do, it will be exciting. Still we are not going to pigeon hole you to cars. Your family, streets around you wildlife and more are areas you can sample too.

Again welcome!

Asher

Greeting Rob, from Arizona.

Love the cars as well and there are so many clubs out here for them.
What did you do in the Navy? Thanks for your service!

A small tip - hit the enter key to add a small space between your images when you are posting them, it helps viewing the images when there is a small space between them.
Those VW's have sure come a long way since the original beetle!

I missed the Navy stint! That sounds very tough and also interesting! Were you on a Navy ship?

Asher

BTW, I added the extra space Marshall suggested!

wow thanks for for the warm welcome Asher and Marshall. In deed i will take your few tips into heart fosho..lol Anyway cars arent the only thing i enjoy taking pictures of i found out...For some reason i enjoy insect and water shots too. When i have some that i feel you guys might enjoy i'll put em up. I need to get a couple more lenses though i only have a 18-55 right now. I really really want a fish eye but i cant find them for my camera. And yes you are correct he is a handfull but it makes it a bite easier that hes well mannered and thoughtful of other people. And ye si was on a Navy ship The USS Boise (ssn 764) & The USS Miami (ssn755). I was a Submariner. I wish to god that i would have been into photography then cause i saw so many amzing places!
Funny things is i always do the little space thing between photos but i must have missed it.
