Hello, everyone.

My name is Johnny and I'm happy to have joined this photography forum.

I am an amatuer photographer and hobbyist. I began taking photographs a little more than a year ago. Self-taught, I enjoy the challenge of trying to capture and create beautiful images. Not knowing true ‘text book' technique I try to shoot many photographs and experiment using different methods and settings. I bracket everything and write down what works and what doesn’t work. Every day is a new opportunity and every photograph a chance to learn something different, and this forum will hopefully afford me more opportunities to learn.

Having lived and worked in many different places around the United States I have come to appreciate the beauty that is unique to Wisconsin and the American Midwest. That knowledge made it easy for me to chronicle the majesty of the world around me. Landscape and architectural photography, and the process of capturing the wonders of light and color, are the tools I use to record the many magnificent things I see every day.

The camera I use most often is my Canon EOS 5D. It is the most amazing camera I have ever owned. I fell in love with it instantly. I also have a Canon EOS 20D, which was my first digital SLR camera and gets use as my second body.

Thank you for the opportunity to join and I look forward to getting to know each one of you.

Johnny

Welcome Johnny, I found your state to be quite beautiful. There is an area between Fon du Lac and
Elkhardt Lake, which at 6AM on a summer morning is stunning. It's been close to ten years since I've been there, but it remains as a good "image I missed".

Of course, you have some awesome winters as well! -Scott
