Hello my name is Bill LaMorris; I use traditional wet darkroom techniques and film cameras. I shoot Black & White. It is more important for me to create an image that evokes an emotion or feeling than to render a pictorially accurate image of an event or subject. I primarily shoot in medium format with a Pentax 67, or a mini Speed Graphic. I also shoot large format with a 4x5 Speed Graphic, 2 4x5 Burke & James View Cameras, and a Burke & James 8x10 View Camera. I prefer manual cameras because I choose to exercise total control over focus, depth of field, filtration, and exposure. As a matter of fact that is precisely why I prefer to use the tools and materials that I do. It allows me to have total control of the image from its conception until the final matting and framing, and I can hopefully produce an image that is unique.

Hi Bill,

Nice to have you here. I hope you can scan in some images, and link to them here. It is nice to work in the analogue world, you get a far better feel for things, imho. Sort of like 'I'll just try this for a bit more time', instead of 'I'll set this to a radius of 1.28 pixels'. It makes every result unique, if that is what is wanted.

Best wishes,

Ray

Welcome Bill!

We especilly would love you to show off your MF and LF work!

I still use my Bronica SQ, Crown Graphic and a Busch Pressman 4x5. My new camera is on its slow journey from China, an 8x10 Chamonix as well as a 4x5 reduction back. So I'll enjoy sharing images with you! I do most of my work with Canon Digital Cameras but still work with film, even pinhole.

So jump in, we are looking forward to your active participation.

If you happen to have a gallery, let us know! Add the film and lenses used and a brief intro to the images and a guide to your wishes.

Asher
