Hi,

Each year on the occasion of Eid ( An Islamic Occasion ) my wife and me send self photographed greeting cards to friends and family. Each year has had a different theme.

This year we have decided to concentrate on our ( Saudi ) culture and heritage. Cards depicting various
common day items that are traditional and speak of our history and our past. These items have been
handed down to us for generations and it falls on us to preserve them for the generations to come.

Please find a selection of some of our ' to be' greeting cards:

This year's theme is my wife's suggestion and most photographs are hers. I did some ps on them.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Fahim,

You have competition, because your wife has a good eye for composition.

Interesting to me, from a photographic viewpoint, is the choice of angle in the second example. The composition is such that the eye is guided from (bottom) right to (upper) left. The right to left direction is possibly a culturally imprinted preference due to reading. I would probably have chosen (or flipped the image) for a left to right orientation of the leading line, although the lighting direction also makes this R-->L composition agreeable to me.

The theme is a nice one.

Cheers,
Bart

Hi Bart,

Really nice of you to stop by.
There was never any competition ( in almost all things ). She is way better.

It would appear that the R-L orientation is ingrained !!

Best.

Hi Fahim,

These are lovely, and I can see your hand in the colours. As Bart points out, even the first picture reads from right to left.

I consider myself blesed by your sharing.
