Hey from London UK

Just thought I'd say hi.

I'm a photographer based in London UK. I've been into photography for about 2 years now, but I have an art background and have worked as a graphic web designer for many years.

I like most types of photography but I really enjoy taking landscapes, especially at night.

I do own an SLR, but most of my work is taken with the Olympus Pen. The best camera for a job is the one you're carrying. Since the Digital Pens are smaller than your traditional SLR's it means I can always have a camera with me, and hence it gets used more often.

Here's some of my work. I look forward to interacting with people.

Thanks

L Agbaimoni

Luke,

I spent some time on your website. There's a lot of work you have done and I was captivated. I wonder why you use flash as to me it's slow and Google and other search engines might not have easy access?

This picture fascinates me because of the angle and the odd egg that I've not seen before. Is this a sculpture? Did you have a gymnast or added the figure, (and for that matter the clouds and sun), in photoshop?

The site is actually made in java, not flash. The scripting needs some tweaking to work faster - it seems the speed varies accross different browsers, but this is something that I'm looking in to.

Thanks for your interest in this picture. This is definately one of my favourites. This is the description from my photoblog...

One of the things I most like about photography is how the unexpected can sometimes happen right in front of your lens. I was taking a shot of this strange egg sculpture at Tower Bridge, then suddenly a guy starts trying to climb up the egg (trust me when I say this is no easy task). At first I thought it was ‘Murphy’s Law‘ coming into play. Murphy’s Law for Photographers states “the moment you try to take a photo – someone is going to step in and ruin your shot”. The scene could have been empty for hours before you begin taking a picture – but the moment you start taking interest in a shot it somehow draws other people around this object too. These people usually hang around until you leave. Sitting, standing, or doing other random things in front of you. But the moment you lose interest in the subject then they will too – just like a young child only wants to touch the things that you say they are not allowed to – but if you pretend that you’re not interesting or unbothered then they will leave it alone.

Anyway, I’m ranting. This guy runs into my shot and starts climbing the egg free runner style. And then to my surprise – he balances perfectly at the top of the egg like a gymnast. Of course I think that this is totally awesome but only manage to capture the end of his performance. So I asked him kindly to pose again. Annoyingly, it was night so not the perfect time to try to capture this feat. He said that he could only hold his horizontal position for 10 seconds – so I timed the shot the best that I could and managed to get this outcome which I’m very please with.

Hi Luke,

Welcome! Your art background definitely shows in these images. Well done!

But could you post the link to your website so I can take a more detailed look? Thanks.

Jean
