HI, Bill Parsons here. Nice to meet you.

I have been an image maker for a number of years, now, doing watercolor, photography, and video. I no longer paint, but continue to enjoy my own prejudices in art.

I have been using M-Leicas exclusively since 1970. I have a Rollei-35 that I keep on hand and have tried various other (non-SLR) cameras, but am not satisfied unless my images pass thru Leica glass.

To me, there is a "roundness" to Leica-made images that does not exist elsewhere in photography. I appreciate a similar characteristic in 'blad pix, but don't use any Zeiss lenses myself.

In my wet darkroom, I use a variety of Zone-VI accessories, a Beseler 23C with condensere head, and a Schneider lens. That should be past tense, now.

I've been shooting digital with a Leica Digilus-2 since Feb 04 except for two occasions when I needed a higher iso. Those times, I hauled out the M4 and M6 (non-ttl) and ran my usual Fuji NPZ (NHG? iso-800).

I shoot a lot of dance in performance (both still and video). For this purpose, I use a 35mm f1.4 asph, a 50mm f1.4 asph, and a 75mm f1.4, as well as the D2.

I am looking forward with great anticipation to the eventual delivery of my M8 -- ordered 2 years ago. The rep is clearly asleep.

For this new M, i just acquired a used 24mm f2.8 asph lens. Images from this lens on Sean Reid's site allowed me to see how special this lens is. In addition, Erwin Puts raves about the lens.

I am building an imaging business to go to when the day job is over (n-o-t y-e-t ... ). I shoot a lot of video and combine still shots with this work with which to make my own cover art.

I have reached the point with my photog where I like what I am doing. Nice place.

Regards to all. I'm pleased to be here.

I'm so delighted to welcome you, especially someone that shoots Leica and film no less. I have a great interest in building that part of our forum. Two weeks ago I even shot a roll of film at the LA Zoo with the M7. It was a delight!

So is the M8. Read my remarks in the thread about the M8.

I hope you will post images from all your work. Now I'll have to open another bottle of Bordeaux, (the other was celebrating the sweep of the Dems in the USA, but I'll be watching them! If they screw upo, then I'll toast their departure too. I'm that fair.)

I love darkroom photography so you will find a grateful home for your images. BTW, why the Leica brand digital and not the Panosonic?
