Hi, everyone. to introduse myself-

I am a freelance photographer from England-UK. (An oldish one).
Starting about 55 years ago in general practise-then on to mail order catalogues,-with some freelance newspaper work.
I have-untill about 5 years ago used film and sheet cameras-then purchased a Canon 20D
Which got me hooked on digital-and it`s still more than adequate-I hanker after the 5D-Full frame
camera but can`t afford it.
The first year or so iused 20D started to get some good work turning out and was just able to
use the computer ,but unfortunatly my Wife became ill and have not been able to do much since-
Anyway My dear wife is much better now so have just got around to get used to digital again-
Mostly B/W work.
I came across this forum while browsing the net and as you all seem to be a good bunch .
I joined up.
Hope I haven`t bored you to much-
Best wishes Gordon.

Hi Gordon,

Welcome! From all of us, we wish you and your wife good health to enjoy each other and your family. Now, let us in to how you have stored all your film photographs? You must have a lot of boxes and files! I hope you have a scanner. Epson makes really good ones for little money. but so does Canon and Microtek. Prints can be scanned at 600 dpi and film at 1200 dpi to get the majority of what you need for little outlay for a fancy scanner.

Anything special can be scanned commercially.

I'd imagine that stylee has changed. Maybe you shot with a Speed Graphic. Well we love them still! I expect you used something like a Mamiya C330. Let us know how things changed in ease of use and creative potential and also in competition.

Please post your pictures. You need to first get an online hosting service. Do you have that already?

Asher
