I started in photography back in high school days in California with a 35mm Kodak then a Pentax K1000 before built in light meters, progressed to taking photos for the school newspaper and selling freelance. Then on to University and photos for the weekly student paper with both 4x5 Speed Grafix and 35mm covering all types of subjects and freelancing. I could get a B&W print out for publication from 35mm within 2 min of taking it to meet deadlines. I went into biology and research instead of photography and my camera became an electron microscope but I continued taking “normal” photos mainly for myself and printing using university facilities. During this period moved from Calif. to England.
I left research and without a darkroom left much of serious photography 25 years ago only to get back into the photography after starting scuba diving. I've been writing articles with my underwater and travel photos for about 6 years now. Endeavouring to now expand the freelance side. I'm interested in most types of photography but often end up thinking photojournalism. Need to expand on that approach
