Got into to photography straight of high school
and took classes at Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan and
have an Assc. Degree in photography from there.
Then transferred to RIT and have a BS degree in Professional Photography
from there. Spent a 1 ½ in N.Y photo asst. many big name photographers
for very little money. Moved to Chicago photo asst
Became staff photographer for a catalog house called Nobart and got
married. Worked at Nobart for 3 years before moving to Grand Rapids
Michigan and opened my own studio. Studio went well for about 2 years,
then the bottom dropped out and I took a staff position as a
Photographer/Photoshop Editor for a local retailer called Meijer.
Took another staff position here at Progressive Technologies where I
have worked now for 11 years as a multimedia specialist. Other than my
job, lost interest in photography until digital photography came into
its own. Bought my first camera a Kodak 660.
Last year the local little league asked me to take over the T & I for a
league of 1200 kids. It went great and I made enough on the deal to by
some much needed equipment.
Little League so happy with my stuff, asked me to start covering the
action photography and then to cover the Michigan Junior State
tournament. 16 teams, 5 days in 95+ temps. It went great and now I'm
hooked.
I'm been covering local high school sports. Girls BBall, Boys Baseball
(my 13 year old is turning into an amazing ballplayer) Boys BBall, Girls
Volleyball, Football. You get the picture. Got married about 3 years ago to a
wonderful women, who tries to put up with my newfound passion of Sports
Action Photography. My favorate setup now is a 1dmark IIn, a 120-300mm sigma with a 1.4 TC welded to it from May to Nov.
I hope you feel like you know me better now.
