News: Hot off the Press

So where I live we have a small local weekly newspaper that everyone still reads in print form. And in thumbing through the pages, I see an ad for The Colburn School's performance at our local theater venue knowing that Asher is the photographer. In small print on the right is a photo credit.

So those of you who want to visit Thousand Oaks and see the performance at a great theater with good acoustics, please let me know. Those of you who want to see Asher's image in print:

Regards.

Thanks Kathy and Fahim!

My work is continuous and provides a library of images from which the staff can make posters, banners, ads, editorials and the like. So it's a delight to get feedback when they are used. Recently I was thrilled to see full page photographs with just the school logo in the program of the LA Philharmonic's opening season, The LA Opera, The Geffen Theater and the Ahmanson Theater.

I like the idea that a picture of a musician or dancer can represent the entire chain of a first class education, just by its design and execution and the addition of the school logo. I wish I had learned such focus and skills decades ago! I must admit, that looking at other folks works and finding the good in them helps me simplify my own work and refine my art.

Down Side

The down side to seeing your photography in some newspapers is the print quality isn't very good in many instances. I've had a number of images published this last couple of years and it's all over the place with regard to paper, color and ink quality.

Luckily,

The print in the LA Philharmonic and other programs has been perfect! I couldn't believe how magnificent some of the images came out! Makes me think that there are a lot of talented folk at work for them!
