Howdy All!

I am Marshall Everett and live in Phoenix, Arizona. My camera is currently a Nikon D50, though I am drooling over the new D300. Maybe Santa Claus will drop one by!! Most of my work has been landscapes and images from around Arizona. I also do weddings, portraits and whatever else will stand still long enough to shoot. My experience is not all that deep, so I am like a sponge in the learning process and hope to capture some feedback and knowlege from you folks. I'll throw a few shots up soon. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Marshall a special welcome for Nikon users.

In Phoenix you are at the center of great landscapes and also the urban environment. The D50 is so perfect. For most things you do not need more. Just the lenses and actual shooting.

Whatever gear you want, divide by 3. The idea is yo get the best pictures and excel. One only should buy a new lens when not having it limits the work you are doing or prevents you getting an assignment. Try lenses out by renting to see if they really give you what you want. Beware of specifications and magazine reviews. You will astonish yourself just with the simples of equipment.

Thank you both for the welcome wagon. Good advice Asher, I currently use the standard 18-55 and the 55-200mm lenses.
Traveling around Arizona allows me to see some really pretty scenes. I will start to post some individual shots from my travels. I look forward to the input about them, so that I may learn from the observations and experience of others.

As another Nikon shooter I welcome you as well. I spend most of my time here soaking up the knowledge that abounds. There are some really phenominal artists and great teachers here that you can't help but learn from if you just look and listen. Good to see you and hope to see some of Arizona soon.

Good morning Kathy,

Thanks for the welcome. The business that I am working toward is looking more toward people and pets. I have shot some weddings and a few portrait sessions. The pet niche is pretty wide and I am trying to get some business in that area also. Right now, my job allows me to travel around Arizona so I shoot landscapes and whatever grabs my eye. Just shooting is fun and good practice. There are several topic oriented sections in here, so I will be posting shots that I have now to share.
