Yes, this is so delightful, Klaus, especially with those tiny and so perfect pearls of light!

But is this particular lens different from other Sonnar formulations?

Not really, basically it is the same design idea. Specifically however, they have been matched to their specific use (like cine lenses for instance). This one, I took the liberty to even modify it optically so that it matched the used sensor by adding an optical element....which basically is like using a teleconverter on a conventional lens.

So, Klaus, how can aspire to get the perils of the gods when there's a secret new lens element, LOL!


I'm mad, as my 50mm Steinheil Muenchen leapfrogged off the bench and tired to commit suicide! It just has a bent filter ring and is as sweet as ever. Maybe I am not a good guardian of these little dragons after all!

Not much secret actually, just a little though work done....

Too bad about your Cassarit, I hope it can be fixed. I have a very good repair guy in Florida, who could that fix that for you for little!!
