I haven't forgotten about this place.

I haven't been on for awhile because my laptop went haywire on me.
Just got it up and going again, I did lose most of my photo programs, and haven't installed the ones I have on disk. I also lost over 60+ GB of photos, so now I have to start all over again.

Cody: Sorry to hear. However, here's an opportunity for a new year resolution:" back up all data regularly." It will happen again.

What actually happened? Let's assume that the drive didn't crash. If so it's something we mere mortals can deal with. All one has to do is replace that hard drive work on the corrupt one.

If all you did is reformat, then the files are still there. If you went over the entire hard drive and inserted zeros and ones to cover over your tracks, then, yes it's all lost save for major forensic labs. So I think the chances are that all your files are really there. What software did you use to try to recover the images?

Sorry to hear about your mishap, Cody.

I hope you recover your photos and get your equipment operational.

Asher is on it!! There is hope!

Regards.

There is always some solutions whenever you think all is over, even when you delete stuff on your HDD most of the time, nothing is deleted (How do you think government agencies do, huh?)

Once my husband saved our doctor's 1000's of images from a great travel in the reunon island (the travel of a lifetime) from a broken HDD (broken....really)

It took him few days in a row but it gained us some free osteopathic treatment!

Find yourself a good HDD recovery company around, I know it cost a lot.... It's up to you to see if it worth it...

Hi Cody,

Like others wrote, there may be still hope for your pictures. For the future: backup, backup, backup (like Alain said).

Most importantly, welcome back :).

Cheers,
