This is a remarkable picture, not just for the red everywhere, but for the lack of any smile or sparkle in there eyes. Is this a special pose or modesty? The Sister in Law seems to have a sense of increased status or is just aloof. Are they at a ceremony or in mourning? The picture is more positive flipped horizontally.
In B&W, it's surprisingly special.
Thanks for sharing. Now the background to this fascinating image!
Asher, this is a small village just a little walk from a small town I was camped in. Would walk past this
family home many times a day. Hellos and shy smiles all round. Day 2 I asked Raj ( my guide and now my friend ) if we could stop by this house and I do a little picture taking.
We got the permission!
This pic was taken while Raj was explaining to them who and from where I was. They had heard of the my country as we are getting a lot of guest workers from there. They were engrossed in what Raj was telling them. Just the way I wanted it to be. become a fly on the wall!
The sister-in-law is generally domineering in these cultures ( more than the mother-in-law ) as the bride has to stay with her husband and mother and an understanding usually develops.
I had a fabulous lunch with them followed by nepalese tea..superb.
BTW, I did give raj prints of these fotos to post it to them.
