Hi Paul,
That's a gorgeous scene, IMO what really makes the photo is the composition, the way you have balanced the rocks in the foreground with the distant plain, is like a square crossed by a diagonal marked by the river, that reinforce a sense of movement. The square format is unusual I think for a landscape but it works very well.

Once again, you show great craft in your choice of angles and position for your picture. Using the boulders in the foreground allows one to better appreciate the depth and flatness of the moor ahead. Is this made with film?
However created, this splendidly composed B&W picture is a wonderful excuse to expand the realm of another composition, the Yorkshire song of that name! "The song tells of a lover courting the object of his affections, Mary Jane, on Ilkley Moor without a hat (baht 'at). The singer chides the lover for his lack of headwear – for in the cold winds of Ilkley Moor this will mean his death from exposure. This will in turn result in his burial, the eating of his corpse by worms, the eating of the worms by ducks and finally the eating of the ducks by the singers."Source
