I vanished sleeping on the floor of LAX airport because of a delayed flight and eventually arrived in time to take the wedding pictures in a remote mountain village in Switzerland. No cars are allowed in the village so one has to go by horse and cart. Will post pics. The ceremony took place in tiny 500 year old church with valuable frescoes and two tiny windows and light from one candle. I took the pictures as ISO 2400 to 4000 depending on the light as clouds moved by. I used my 50 1.2 lens at 1.8 and surpisingly I have some pretty damn good pictures.

Just thought you might have wondered about my absence. Tomorrow hopefully I,ll have internet and a keyboard I can use.

Start,

I may have turned into a fly but lack the insight to realize it!

Still, it was necessary to be a "fly on the wall", so to speak while shooting and sharing the small space with a priest and a complex service where the positions of the bride and groom were shifted or blocked by the priest requiring a lot of corresponding balancing moves to retain the targets in my sights.

I was surprised the priest was tolerant even of me climbing up into the pulpit or in the choir loft to get my pictures.

The Rules

Lucky for you, Asher. One wedding this year had forbidden shooting anywhere in the santuary except behind the last row of pews and there was a glass wall. Only the doorway was available for shooting - or shooting through glass. Then there was the threat that the ceremony would be stopped if I even attempted to use flash and I'd be thrown out of the chapel. Too bad the guests were allowed to shoot during the ceremony with their flash.

Looking forward to seeing your images. If you'd only asked, you could have had an assistant.

Let them use flash! I^d give out disposable Fuji cameras to flash away! That`s a great trick!

Anyway, right now am in Madrid with my Macbook Pro failed! The screen goes dark after 4 secs before fully booting!

Will try to catch up ASAP using the hotel computer!

I was at my brother's daughters christening service yesterday and was quite impressed to see one guest, shooting with a small point and shoot, not only turn off the flash but also cover the focus assist light to ensure that she didn't disturb the action. Of course there were several oterhs will full falsh mode on and an available light dslr on autodrive. I left my camera in the bag.

Asher, looking froward to some of the results, which I hope you will be allowed to share.

I wish the cameras wouldn`t signal the shooting!

Still without a computer! Just slipped in with the Hotel`s PC. No image software! Will share when I`m back home shortly.
