Introducing myself

Hi, I'm Chas.

I'm an enthusiastic amateur photographer who shoots mostly landscape and outdoor stuff. I've recently set up a small studio in my home to teach myself studio / product photography. I use digital for most of my photography, shooting with a Canon Digital Rebel, but I also shoot some B&W film with a couple of antique cameras that I inherited from my family.

I live in Silicon Valley where I work as a tech pubs manager for a semiconductor manufacturer. I have called myself "a photographer" since high school when I inherited my father's 6 X 6 TLR. I studied photography and filmmaking at San Francisco Art Institute in the early 70s, but left photography in the 80s.

I took up digital photography about 5 years ago with the purchase of a point and shoot, bought my current Digital Rebel used a couple of years ago, and plan to upgrade to a newer body in the next year.
