Not so hard, just get a nice place, get a ND Filter and you're done. I was very amazed with the effect that the filter produces. Absolutely 100% different from shooting without the filter!

Tell me about this one; is this HDR? There's something strange to me as if some edges have increased contrast. Old buildings have ruined transitions as dust and detritus accumulates and spiders weave webs.

Hi ASher! How's going!

It's not HDR. it¡s a new technique I'm developing, using few layers of HP at different radius and opacity and a white (or black?) layer on top set to burn. Then paint with black or white on that top layer to increase contrast in the desired areas.

So this is HP or "High Pass filter" use. What made you think of that? what were you trying to get? Is there a painter or other photographer who's work you were trying to emulate?

I use the HP almost all the time, in order to increase local contrast when I want the picture looking more contrasted in the midtones.

Regarding the second question, remember that I didn't know who was Rembrandt till 3 years ago, so I don't know if I'm emulating someone else ^^
