Kodak - Winds of Change

Not sure if you have seen this or not.

This is a commercial that was produced for internal use. But it has become so popular, especially with employees, that Kodak has released it for external viewing. It demonstrates that Kodak not only understands it's changing business but also has a sense of humor.

Enjoy,
Brian

That is a wonderful and inspiring Kodak moment!

The video tells me that the get it and will do very well. It takes either despair or real insight and confidence to make a video like that!

The auto adjustments of levels in shadow and bright areas comes from a chip provided to both HP and Kodak by Texas Instruments two years ago.

Essentially, a 4 year old will be able to just aim a camera at a scene of high dynamic range, say big brother and sister standing with their backs to a bright open window overlooking a sparkling river with a bright blue sky and gloriousw billowing clouds.

The picture will have both perfectly exposed clouds, sparkles in the water clear but not blown and well exposed shadows.

That is standard with the TI chip. furthermore, it is the TI scientists who have done the extra work on color, object recognition and more.

The question is will Canon ever stoop to use a TI chip in their cameras???
