Photographic Gems of Our Times From The Web La France vue d'ici.

Sète exhibition Images Singulières and the online journal Mediapart (which challenges the notion of "journal", the political horizon and the way the press is financed in France... by uncovering quite a few political scandals) associated to bring out a portrait of France as viewed from within.

May I suggest you check the web site at http://www.lafrancevuedici.fr?

Of particular interest (for me, but I have not seen everything) are Yohanne Lamoulère works on Marseille:

Jerome,

You have opened up for us an encyclopedic picture set. But I wish there was a guide in English. Still, my French is good enough for a taste. I wish it was sufficient to get the nuances too.

I will try to do more than wander. But so far, I have discovered so much.

I have no idea what the differences are in the reportage rules. but nevertheless, as handicapped as I am, the pictures are strong and interesting.

Jerome, I don't know why you chose these two, seemingly dissimilar images. But there are some interesting commonalities. I wonder whether you intended us to compare the building sliced to see the patchwork of private homes exposed to public view as a collection of unrelated fabrics in a patchwork quilt and then the young woman, hosting a patchwork of American influences in her clothing.

Probably not, but still, I found even the coincidence worthy of my attention!

Hi. Jerome,

All great and very interesting shots.

I particularly like the tilting cab (and double articulation on the stick) on the Liebherr crane!

And the wings of Mercury on the young woman.

Best regards,

Doug

The pictures are what is important. The text is not really useful.

I did not think about that specific commonality. I simply wanted to give a small sample of pictures. The site makes it especially difficult to cite pictures or even to copy parts of the text, BTW.
