fishing on the bosphorus...

Thanks for looking.

Hi Fahim,

This one seems to not grab me. My thoughts are that the man is too dark and that the left side is missing. That is some huge fishing pole, but the absence of the end leaves me wanting more.
Maybe a different angle would have worked better, say one that is a bit more behind the man to show more of what he is looking out at. Just my opinion.

Well, for me it works well!

The dark man is in continuity with the dock/ground, makes him engraved there for life…
Endless pole? interesting idea!
He's like a stone statue, fishing in the absolute empty space… for such a place like Bosphorus…

Marshall, Nicolas and Janet..thanks for stopping by. when i found this gentleman fishing alone
i started a conversation with him and found him to be resident of the asian side since birth. my thoughts
on framing were a man stuck on the asian side wanting to reach europe but not quite getting there,as
if he does not belong there. which he doesn't!

anyway just my ramblings.

Take care.

Fahim,

Let's suppose this photograph is metaphorical for something about humanity. what would it be. After all the end of the rod is not seen nor is the line or bait. Even the ground is questionable. Is it a wooden dock, a stone bridge or maybe the deck of a boat?

I know you know. but that's not important. Just what could this represent beyond what we see.

I'm not saying this is an important picture. but let's say this was in an important gallery. What might go through your mind besides what on earth were they thinking!

Asher, you want us to capture images and think too. worse, at the same time? learning to do one
thing at a time has taken me a lifetime.

nobody said anything about thinking? what would you use to accomplish this task?

Best.
