Early morning cloud lifting up and out of the Lauterbrunnen Valley, with a view towards the Breithorn...My chalet where I was staying, lay just beyond the church.

I see I have short-changed myself in not exploring these wonderful places. Each time I go to Europe I try to be adventurous and after the compulsory visits to France and the U.K., both of which have cultural ties to my life, I choose some place new. It might be Germany, but then I feel we could squeeze in Rome and Venice and now the schedule is full. Or I add in Budapest or Prague and no time is left for Switzerland!

I did shoot a wedding in the alps. We were not allowed to drive to the village where the chapel was as only horse drawn carriages are permitted.

So I do have a tiny taste of the Swiss Alps but your pictures tell me I have missed such a lot!

All worthy places of course and well worth the time but Switzerland is awesome. There is so much to see and do here in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, it's literally base camp for getting close up and personal to the Monch, Jungfraujoch, Eiger, Silberhorn and Breithorn etc. Of course, base jumpers, paragliders, climbers and skiers all unite here.
