Hi Charlotte,
This is a very good portrait, by any definition! Kudos!
Composition, lighting, color, viewer contact with the subject, all perfect.
The only niggle I can come up with is that because of his pose, the bare shoulder draws a bit too much attention, perhaps you can darken it a little bit so it draws less attention.

Bart- Much thanks! I cropped as much as I could around that shoulder to keep the integrity of the picture
