Hi,

Due to relatively warm temperatures during the day, fog is falling in at the evening:

the "Gold" version:

the "Film-Noir" version

Lovely images as per usual Wolfgang and my preference for the better shot is not shown here.
I think the crop on film noir is fantastic but the gold colour is more appropriate (for me).
Are they from the same file?

Hi Andy

no, these are two different files.
Asher, now it is the season for BW-shots ... :))) and Alienskin is the perfect tool to work with.

Hi Andy,

sorry, I forgot to give the informations:
Canon 5D Mark III, EF200mm f/2,8 at 10, ISO 3200, and 2 sec on Tripod (of course) :) and a subtle handful of Austria's special pre-Christmasfog :))))

So I'm wondering how it would have looked at 400 iso and 16 seconds or thereabouts.

Not meaning to be picky here, just thinking aloud.

There is a lovely grainy earthiness to these shots but I do wonder if a bit sharper and more 'surgical' might have complemented the other shots (the B+W bike and your stunning metallic style shot across the valley) as a series.

Sorry, I should just appreciate them as the top drawer images that they are.

Just probing your thought processes a little I guess.
I hope you can appreciate that.

I do, Andy, thank you for your interesting and helpful input!
I'll give it a try the next time, but I guess, that ISO 400 would not really help as the fog itself "produces" grain or "noise" (if you like) ...

Hi, Wolfgang,

Hi,

Due to relatively warm temperatures during the day, fog is falling in at the evening:

Both very nice.

Although the "film noir" version is very effective in its own right, I think that comparing the two versions I like the "gold" version best.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Doug
