My studio for portraits!

I wonder how many of us have studios for portraits. It’s so useful to me to have my lights and backgrounds always ready.

This is my studio until late 2022 when we were flooded out! The model is Isabella and a delight!

We have a black background mostly and I have Lumedyne lights shining oblique on it and hair and body lights to back light her.

You can see one one upper left.

My main light is a large Mola with a an AD400 400 Watt sec Godox strobe.

The angled key light is similar but a smaller Mola with a grid.

In addition I have more lights to build on that basic setup.

I use 8 ft by 4 ft flat styrofoam card reflectors, white one side and black the other, folded vertically, to hide the lights on the background.

Behind the background I hide various alternative colors but hardly use them!

This compact studio is now closed.

It’s replaced by one in our double garage and now the lights are permanently set up on overhead rails!
