Hello William

I like this shot very much, good shallow DOF, brought to life by the wasps/bees in flight in the bottom rhs, they do love Viburnum don't they!

I've looked at this a couple of times, initially I was a bit unsure about it being in b&w, but the more I look the more it grows on me......

Great balance-just wonderful balance and I love the black and white
it brings to my mind a dream sequence-
this is a wonderful capture of nature and its life around us-its busy isn't it-
yet the flower brings joy to the insects
also the shot has such a Summer ease- as if my glass of lemonade wants to belong!
Summer Poem you have here, just delightful and full of grace*

Charlotte-

Thank you, Janet. I didn't know the species of plant but indeed I have never seen so busy an airport. B&W was chosen for several reasons:

1.Color was just too easy and flowers in monotone get to the heart of plant faster.

2. The insect in the bottom left against the background of the blossom was
quite stark and effective. Color would have distracted such a contrast. As you pointed out, the traffic in that area is pivotal in bringing to entire photo to life.

3. Post processing is very kind to white flowers with dark leaves. You could even say it glows...

Thanks for stopping by.
