A Portfolio Series for Your Consideration: An invited Series NSFW: La Lettre De La Photographie

This morning I discovered that a selection of my Paris photos was chosen by Tim Jefferies for the Weekend Portfolio section of the La Lettre De La Photographie blog. I've been following this blog for a while now and I'm quite proud to have been selected.

Based in Paris, La Lettre is featured in the form of a “newsletter”, a web site and an iPad application to all audiences interested in photography.

George,

I visited and I must commend you for getting your work out there. It's important to believe in your own art, but having folks choose it above others is really satisfying!

The series stands well together. Hope you will gradually share more of these here. :)

Thank you, Asher. Several of the photos that were selected have been edited out of the portfolio on my web site. I'm still in the process of working through what to keep and how to sequence the images, though. I've got upwards of 40 images but don't feel they all work together so, I could end up with something like 20-36 in the end.

Keep at it! Also ask yourself what the next step for you is? You might look t the roof or some other part of the building.

That's excellent, George! Your series' success is well deserved and comes for a merit. I enjoyed the pictures, they are all very stylish and beautiful. I remember you explaining the starting point of this work in another thread and you've certainly accomplished an air of isolation and solitude in your pictures. That is at least the impression they give me. Thank you!

So, George, are you plans for this project fixed or evolving? Does this acceptance make you more willing to invest creative energy in this project or move on to the next one?

Asher,

I've got another couple of images in mind but this feels like it is coming to a close for me. I would like to spend some time with it before moving on and also have some plans to update my web site, in both French and English. Lots to do.

And congratulations.

A pleasant surprise! La Journal de la Photographie has been showing a retrospective of the past year's Weekend Portfolios selections. This weekend includes the work chosen by Tim Jefferies, which includes my series. Each of the jurors will be asked to choose one or two favorites from among their original selections for a public vote in December to choose the best portfolio of 2012. I'm not a big fan of art contests, but it is nice to get my work out there again.

George,

Then we're totally vindicated in adopting you and welcoming your "33 Meters Square" series.! We all look forward to you sharing with us your progress, the diversions and blocks in the road, the ups and the necessary downs! I'm glad they chose your work once more. Kudos! :)
