Nude Conversation

Gelatin-silver photograph on Agfa Classic MCC III VC FB photographic paper, image size 24.6cm X 19.6cm, from a 8x10 Tmax 400 negative exposed in a Tachihara 810HD triple extension field view camera fitted with a Fujinon-W 300mm f5.6 lens. Signed, titled, and stamped verso.

Unclad people left to themselves tend not to bounce about photographic studios interacting with a catalogue of unlikely props. Nor do they arrange themselves in curious tableaux illustrating some point from the history of art. They tend to fall into attitudes of simple repose as in this photograph.

The camera is very close and the model's legs pass under the tripod. The conversation was about visual ideas and, out of curiosity, the model asked if it was all right to look back at the viewer of the picture, to stare at them the way they might stare at her image. I suggested a facial expression sort of "direct" and "knowing" would be ideal. I think she nailed it!

Maris,

But here the massive stone vagina exactly matches what we cannot quite see and her expression says, "There you are, it's here for you to stare at, if you so choose!" I like this composition of a person and rock, au naturel!

When I first saw this thread listed, I thought the title was "nude conversion", and I thought it was perhaps about some new plugin from Topaz.

Or perhaps it would be done in-camera by the new Leica M Nackt.

Best regards,

Doug
