I love Netflix online, because it lets you explore films without risk.
I'm a fan of documentary films. One they have on Netflix is called "Objectified." It is about industrial design. They interview designers for Apple, Braun, Target, BMW, and other companies. Unlike a lot of documentary films, the cinematography is, by and large, excellent. Especially the beginning. It just draws you in.
The film is primarily about design, and how designers work. Things like toothbrushes and potato peelers get discussed. Great stuff. It makes an interesting comparison to photography, because in photography you are looking at what is there, and trying to figure out how to portray it, while in design, you are thinking about what needs to be, and trying to figure out how to make it work, and how to make it look good. A lot of the film is making good design look good.
Speaking of documentaries, the visuals aren't nearly so good, but if you like rock guitar, particularly Jimmy Page, The Edge, and/or Jack White, then you absolutely must watch "It Might Get Loud."
