Ordinary People, Each with Separate Agendas, in Large Public Places

What a nice approach to pano-photograps! I like the idea of shooting
simple (well, it might not be simple to stitch it, :) but that's another story) scenes,
they can be quite interesting.
In the search of friendly photo forums, I sometimes leave the site
if it just contains "winner-photos" with only breathtaking sceneries.
This topic made me register here! :)

Ok, here goes - this pano is from an airport in Kolkata, India.
Here's where people fight for a good place to spot the baggage, suitcases might
be crashed or lost, and tourists might be thinking about how to avoid getting
cheated by the taxidrivers waiting outside.

Welcome to OPF, Patrick,

You created a novel subject. You photograph shows different people, each with their own schedule and imperatives. The challenge is to capture some of the spectrum of peoples lives. Here nothing is posed, it's a sampling in an instant of an embrace, a pressure to meet a flight, get home or face relatives, debt, doubt or celebration. I hope there's more of this. I do a lot of airport photography, but these are portraits. I'll post some later and provide a link. I also photograph the architecture but rarely both!

Hope you don't mind me making a new thread for you, but the topic is worth attention.

I hope now, others will show their stitched people pictures in shopping malls, on the deck of ocean liners or expeditions down the Amazon or in the Arctic! Just people with their own private separateness with no orchestration by the photographer.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Patrick,

I wanted to see how the image would be bringing out the shadows, taming the bright lights a tad and emphasizing the people by selective lighting. So here's my modest view. I hope you don't mind my trying out my ideas with your picture!

That's ok. I was surprised first, couldn't find my message, thought I did something wrong in my first posting here.
But here it was. :) Let's see if I any of my other panos fit into that "urban" thread.
