Oven with a view

Yesterday I did this photo for a request in a stock photo website. I respond to these requests sparingly, depending on how attractive is the budget vs my possibilities to deliver. In this case everything looked right so I worked as fast as I could but yet the client got his photo before I submitted. Not cool. There are people really quick on the trigger out there! Loosing the opportunity wasn't fun but there it is, one more photo for the catalog. Next...

Very neat, Ruben. I searched in vain for a reflection of the camera in oven window. Did you fire the shutter using the camera timer?

Ruben,

Well conceived and very cleanly executed. Had they waited, they would have gotten a great picture. I'd love to see what got chosen instead. How much does such a picture yield in such a specific request?

Thanks Tom, that's right, camera timer. There are two exposures, one for the oven, one for the kitchen (with no flash inside the oven), Photoshop took care of the flash reflection :).

Thanks very much Asher, in this case I think the customer selected a photo from another source, not from this stock company, so there's little chance to know what was their pick. This was a $750.00 offer for use in a postcard, worldwide rights, I think it was 10,000 prints.
