Welcome! I have seen your book on retouching and it looks interesting. I wonder if you also do photography for yourself these days?

Occasionally I will take a shot of something for an image that requires retouching, but there are so many great shooters out there is would be a tough gig getting into photography at this stage.

Hi Glenn,

Not so tough really. The problem might really be that you are so trained and skilled in retouching, especially models and cars, that you might perhaps just be constrained by this world.

Retouching, as you point out, is successful when the client is happy and when it does not carry your identity to the viewer but seems it was always like that. In that way you have held yourself back. IOW, there has been a mesh of constraint. Your creativity is to be stealthy. Interestingly, this quality is part of the human heritage of being able to deceive prey when we hunt!

I'd love to see you move out of your safe area into something totally new. We have "Riskit!" for that.

Meanwhile, we'll post several skin issues for people to correct.
