puppy portrait - help with B+W

This was a bit of a grab shot of my son's two young dogs.

I like it as black and white and I know there are a few here who understand B+W much better than I.

Any ideas for giving it a kick? You know, just simple things I might be missing.

I like it as it stands! Antonio and Paul would probably be more suited to give you any tips. I don't deal with any color channels so I don't much about conversions.

Thanks James, apparently the target audience liked it so that's all I need I guess.

This one broke hearts it seems..

And this one took care of the mirth factor..

Andy, that's a damn fine B&W image as it stands, I agree with James. It's a great photograph too, very candid, nice one.
The 'mirth factor' shot well deserves to be printed on a mug. Squatting one out indeed! :D

I can't stop laughing. That is a hell of a capture; especially with the eyes closed. Difficult to top this when it comes to dog pictures.

Thanks very much for the feedback guys.

I think it's easy with furry creatures, no skin tones to grapple with.
