On a picture like this with the availability of content-aware repair/fill, do you ever consider removing the intervening branch.

Yes, it’s “The Truth” but are you strict about not ever making such compositional changes? After all, you might have gotten the pose with no twig, had you waited!
Or, in this case, is that wayward twig adding a perfect balance and completion of the composition?
