Reminds me of grandma

When I saw this lady selling her produce every day on the street - - - what attracted me to return was how she reminded me of my grandmother.

My grandma died when I was a young teenager, and I never knew her well except to visit a couple of times a year - - - mostly my memories are from old blurry pictures in my mom's photo box. Especially does this particular captured expression bring to mind my fondest memories.

I'm positive that the two look nothing alike. In fact my wife thinks that she looks more like my other grandma. It doesn't matter though. Photos have such a power to kindle memories, feelings and emotions - that may just be unique to each viewer and not obvious to anyone else.

Rob,

This is a superb portrait. It has not only power, (enough that you could crop away all the b.g, and still be proud), but also tells so much about her attitude, strength and life force with the b.g. there to complement her. Had the central figure not be so well presented, there would be far too much detail in the rest of the picture. This lady, however, is so wonderfully vibrant, that she can hold her own anywhere.

I even delight in the blown out hole, as if we're on a battlefield perhaps. It provides a sense of the real war some have to survive to earn their bread, a little each day.

Bravo. This is an exceptional picture. Now is it possible to do this with another person? After all the credit must be divided between you. I do hope that you can create siblings to this extraordinary salute to a fellow human being of worth.
